- Organisation of national meetings with relevant stakeholders to inform on latest research findings, methods, and techniques
- Involvement of patients in the development and execution of the study
- Expansion to all hospitals and healthcare institutions in the Netherlands
Promote academic excellence
- Development of higher standard clinical research in The Netherlands
- Publication of research findings in relevant scientific journals and presentation to peers at conferences and scientific events
Challenges in clinical research
Kidney research in The Netherlands is of excellent quality, ranking in the international top-10 in terms of citations (Scopus). At the same time, clinical research is accompanied by increasingly complex regulations. To maintain and strengthen our leading position, better coordination of logistic processes regarding clinical research is required. A recent EU benchmark and action plan (in Dutch) pointed out that networks of researchers are well suited to share knowledge and experience and promote cooperation and acceleration of clinical research. Other clinical research networks (e.g., HOVON, WCN) are excellent examples in other fields.
